I visited Norway in August almost every year from 1986 to 2006. During those years we assisted the Oslo Jazz Festival by working with the US artists. Most of my photographs from Oslo are music related, but on occasion I was able to undertake non-musical projects, in Oslo and the surrounding countryside and in cities as far away as Haugesund. Some of my favorites focus on the monumental sculpture of Gustav Vigeland. To an outsider, Oslo in August is about as close to earthly paradise as one could imagine. Most of these photographs reflect this feeling.
