Instantaneous Developments

I bought a Polaroid SX 70 camera a little over a year after it came out in 1972. It was unlike anything in photography, something completely new, and many serious photographers gravitated to it, particularly in the early years before Polaroid changed the film. Two photographers who worked with the camera were Walker Evans and Andre Kertesz. In 2000, Jennifer Stroup asked me to write an article for Madison Magazine about my adventures with the SX 70. This is the result. My SX 70 photographs of both Evans and Kertesz and a few others were included in the article.
